Dr. Elyse A. MacDonald graduated from Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in 2008 where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After graduation, she completed a PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and a PGY2 in Medication Use Safety and Policy (formerly called Drug Information) at the University of Utah Health Drug Information Service. Prior to her pharmacy career, Dr. MacDonald was an analytical chemist and clinical supplies project leader in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. MacDonald is currently the Director of the Investigational Drug Service (IDS) at a nationally recognized academic medical center in the Bay Area. In this role, she actively works to standardize and optimize IDS operations, collaborates with key stakeholders in the School of Medicine and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and helps ensure regulatory compliance. She is a voting member of the Institutional Review Board. Dr. MacDonald is passionate to advance IDS practice to ensure practice advancing ideas to help IDS staff work at the top of their licenses. Dr. MacDonald is involved in numerous professional organizations. She is a founding incorporator of the Society of Research Clinicians (SRC) and Peak Pharmacy Group Consultants. | Dr. Lisa Janssen Carlson began her career in the biotechnology industry at Santa Cruz Biotechnology following her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at UC Santa Cruz. She transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry and has over 10 years of research experience in translational oncology, which include Scios and Genentech. She played a key role in the TGFβ project, resulting in a publication in Neuro-oncology. To merge her research career with her passion for direct patient care, she transitioned to clinical pharmacy and graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from Pacific University in 2014. She published two articles on micellar drug delivery while at Pacific. With a focus on oncology, she completed a PGY1 Acute Care Residency at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Dr. Janssen Carlson is currently the Manager of Investigational Drug Service (IDS) at a nationally recognized academic medical center in the Bay Area. She displays professional competence in the delivery of research pharmacy services through interdisciplinary collaborations and utilization of key metrics with experience in optimization of processes, including paperless practices. A qualified ASHP preceptor and educator who has served as an adjunct faculty and guest lecturer at Oregon State University and Pacific University, College of Pharmacies, and Washington State University, Doctor of Nurse Practitioner Program. Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist who is involved in numerous professional organizations, including a founding incorporator of the Society of Research Clinicians (SRC) and Peak Pharmacy Group Consultants. | Dr. Jennifer Murphy graduated from the UC San Francisco School of Pharmacy in 2011, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After graduation, she completed a PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at UC San Diego Health and a PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at UC Davis Health. As a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist and qualified ASHP preceptor, her primary area of practice is in Investigational Drug Service (IDS) at a Cancer Center Pharmacy at a nationally recognized academic medical center in Northern California. In this role, she developed the IDS Cancer Center service line in 2013. She is actively involved in quality improvement projects, oncology clinical trial protocol development, research team collaboration, and IDS practice advancement and sustainability. Dr. Murphy has served as an adjunct faculty and guest lecturer at California Northstate University, College of Pharmacy and currently holds a volunteer faculty position as an assistant professor at UCSF School of Pharmacy. Additionally, she is involved in numerous professional organizations and is a founding incorporator of the Society of Research Clinicians (SRC) and Peak Pharmacy Group Consultants. |
